    The Blackwood Quartet

    Thursday, May 3, 2018 | 12:30 PM

The year was 1934. Brothers Roy, Doyle and James Blackwood, along with Roy’s son R.W., formed what was to become the most beloved and respected gospel group of all time, The Blackwood Brothers Quartet. Through the decades, members have changed but the group’s popularity lives on. They’ve performed on several TV shows including The Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters, the beloved American classic, Hee Haw and the prestigious Arthur Godfrey Talent Show in 1954. The group created Grammy-award winning Blackwood Brothers albums in the early 1980s. The group continues to tour regularly and brings the word of Christ through song, to both believers and non-believers alike. The quartet has had the privilege of performing with Willie Nelson and many other great artists.

Winston is old, tired, and losing his grip. In making his choice, he rolls back the years and reviews his uniquely eventful career, filled with history-changing events and people, glorious speeches, pithy comments, funny stories, his checkered relationship with his family, and all the wit and wisdom that has made Churchill far beyond one of history’s greatest figures into an imperishable legend.
